This is the 40th anniversary of school bus safety week, being celebrated from October 15 - 21, 2006.  
This year is also special as we thank Representative John Duncan (R-Tenn) and the United States House of
 Representatives for unanimously passing House Resolution 498, which honors the goals and ideas of 
School bus Safety Week.

Coincident with National School Bus Safety Week
is our state's Watch Out for the Child Week.

As part of this special observation, the North Carolina 
Highway Patrol will step up enforcement in school zones
and along school bus routes.
