Welcome to the North Carolina Pupil Transportation Association!
In being elected President of this great association I want to say it is a humbling experience. It is an honor to serve as the 62nd president for the North Carolina Pupil Transportation Association. This organization strives to set a positive and professional example for all stakeholders. As President I will strive to work tirelessly to garner support from all who serve students, parents, and the general public across North Carolina.
Each of you plays an important role in the daily educational process of our students. The pupil transportation operations around the state begin and end every child’s school day with a ride on the school bus. As a member of the Transportation “team” we are on duty early in the morning and late in the evening. Whether it is hot, cold, dry, or wet outside our families still rely on us to transport their children. Bus drivers have to manage discipline for 60-70 students while maintaining safe operation of the school bus. Bus technicians are challenged every day to ensure all of our vehicles meet strict maintenance protocols. Office staff provides support to keep all facets of the pupil transportation operating smoothly.
As our school buses continue to operate safely each day we face challenges with decreasing budgets, legislative changes, staff reductions, and are asked to do more with less. As individuals we make up a dedicated team of professionals that continue to excel for the school children of this State.
My pledge to all members of NCPTA will be to continue the rich traditions we have while fostering ways to build new ones. We will embrace technology to educate our professionals to work smarter and not harder. Together we will make NCPTA a sounding board that all stakeholders can be proud of.
I personally welcome any suggestions that will better our organization. We have bright minds with a lot of years of service across the state. Let’s be creative and proactive towards reaching new milestones.
Thank you for the dedication to our association.
